A short blog this time:

#For those in the Boston area, Joan and I are an auction item at next week's fund raiser (2/24) for Theater Offensive and it's Youth Outreach Program. High bidder gets cocktails and hors d'ouevres at our home, with us (low bidder has to do it twice). . . . for more info call Scott, at the theater: 617-621-6090.
#My first young adult novel appears in April. It's called Edenville Owls. Adults will probably like it too. I do (though my adulthood is often debated).
#We have begun putting together a CD to be called something like SONGS THAT SPENSER TAUGHT ME, featuring my son Dan singing songs from the books. It may include a guest appearance by Old Golden Throat himself. It'll take awhile, but I thought I'd warn you early.
Talk to you soon.

Should be #1. Have reread Jesse Stone Series. Look forward to next book. Will you write a story that has Spenser, Jesse and Sunny working together?

I have read many of your books, but this is only the second time I've checked out your site, and the first time I've checked out your blog. Anyways, please keep up the good work...you are an inspiration to write...there have been times that reading the Spenser novels caused me to want to hang-out with Spenser & Hawk...Thanks.

Everytime I read a Spenser novel, it feels like I am visiting with an old and dear friend. I like Jessie and Sunny - but not as much.
Tom Seleck, to me, isn't Jessie. He is too old. His character needs a man young enough to still believe. As Jessie, Tom has seen too much to ever be enchanted again.
Why isn't there a movie about the Sunny Randal series? That's what I want to see. Too often women are nothing more than fluff. Deep roles are few and far between.
Finally, the April Kyle story would be a wonderful made-for-TV trilogy.

I finished Edenville Owls a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. Would you believe, however, that it wasn't until I was completely finished and putting it back on the bookshelf that I recognized the choice of the names of the main characters?! I still shake my head over missing that one.

@ September, 2010
I just got home from Europe a few days ago, we lost my brother's oldest son, Morten, 40, to cancer. Now I feel as if I have lost my best friend. I have read, and own EVERYTHING Mr Parker ever wrote. I have trasured Mr Parker's books always and still will. I am so sad for everybody's loss.

Love Robert B. Parker ! Have read almost all of his books . PAINTED LADIES is fantastic. Sad it is the last Spenser !
Admire greatly his devotion to Joan. How lovely ! THREE WEEKS in SPRING was such a beautiful book.
A great, great author .
