Since I discussed plans to make a feature film of Appaloosa, several people have asked if I'll revisit the subject. Yes I will, in fact I am currently on page 79 of a new novel about Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, which for the moment I am calling RESOLUTION. Probably be out next year. As for the movie, I share your enthusiasm for the casting. Ed Harris and Viggo Mortenson are exactly right. The only one better would be, of course, me . . . but my SAG card has lapsed. It is also time to remind you that Jesse Stone returns to CBS-TV in the person of Tom Selleck in the tv version of my novel SEA CHANGE. It will air, I think, on May 22, or there abouts, keep an eye out. Tom makes a great Jesse Stone (of course, if my SAG card hadn't lapsed . . . ). One last show biz note: David Parker and the Bang Group are peforming May 8 through 12 at Dance Theater Workshop in NYC. And, for you California mid coast folks, Daniel Parker will be in residence this summer at The Santa Cruz Shakespeare Festival.

Dear Mr. Paker,
I'm thrilled to hear that you're writing a sequel to Appaloosa. In my Amazon customer review of it a few weeks ago, I posed some questions as to what happened between Virgil and Ms. Allie once Everret killed the competition and took off. Will she be back in Resolution? She does create a lot of sexual tension amongst the male characters, which certainly adds to the excitement of the story. You have to give Virgil and Everret something to bicker about!

Dear Mr Parker,
My first read of your work was Appaloosa. I too hope to read more about Ms Allie.
I listened to you today on WROR's morning show. What is the name of the book you have for younger readers?
One more! In Thin Air you don't use the name Lawrance,Ma you use Proctor,Ma please tell me why. Is it to protect city pride?
Thanks Walter Booth

Dear Mr. Parker:
OMG! May 20th can not get here fast enough! I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Tom Selleck once again give his stellar performance as Chief Jesse Stone in Sea Change. He really brings this character to life and causes Jesse to leap from the pages! If I had never seen Mr. Selleck in Stone Cold, I would have never picked up a single one of your novels. I have never been a big "reader" and I still won't read ANYTHING except for your books! I own the DVD of Stone Cold and wish I could find Night Passage and Death In Paradise on DVD somewhere. I have looked EVERYWHERE without success. If you have ANY IDEA where I can find these 2 movies, it would be incredibly appreciated! Thanks for producing the awesome work that you do!
A fan forever! Evan Lee

Since you and I are contemporary (I could have been your big brother) you know I enjoyed Double Play on every level. That was a special time.
There is one thing I need to ask about: in Thin Air, when Frank Belson got shot.
Quirk picked up Spenser in front of his office. I jumped in right behind Spenser and Malone drove. We took a few turns and were at the Garden (yeah). After a time we were back on the road, headed out Huntington toward Brigham.
I've been sure there was I clue I missed (well?) but now I give up.

Although I am a Selleck fan he is too old for Jesse Stone and the movie Sea Change was s sham of the book, which I happened to finish the day before the movie. Of course, being mainly a Spenser fan, I truly miss Robert Urich and hope for a better replacement than Montanya, he was awful. Bring back Avery Brooks as Hawk I wish I had a good idea for Spenser. Too bad your card expired

BLUE SCREEN, CHAPTER 42
“May I give her something?” Jesse said.
“She’ll eat a grape,” I said.
Jesse pulled one frmo the cluster, put it in the palm of his hand, and handed it to Rosie. She took it happily, chewed it carefully, and swallowed.
.
Jesse gave Rosie another grape. She was pleased.
----------------------
I only recently discovered your Sunny Randall novels and am enjoying them very much. In Blue Screen, Sunny allows Jesse to give Rosie a grape. I assume you might also allow your Rosie the occasional grape.
We too have a German Shorthair and I enjoy eating grapes. My wife cautions me about accidentally allowing our dog Daysy access to grapes.
I thought the following by Michael Richards, DVM might be of interest.
GRAPE AND RAISIN POISONINGS IN DOGS
Recently, there was a letter in the AVMA Journal from Dr. Gwaltney-Brant and others at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center discussing grape and raisin poisoning in dogs. Apparently, grapes and raisins can be toxic to dogs.
The grapes and raisins came from varied sources, including being eaten off the vine directly. The dogs exhibited gastrointestinal signs including vomiting and diarrhea and then signs of kidney failure with an onset of severe kidney signs starting about 24 hours after ingestion of the grapes or raisins. The amount of grapes eaten varied between between 0.41 and 1.1 oz/kg of body weight. Two dogs died directly from the toxicity, three were euthanized due to poor response to treatment and five dogs lived. Due to the severity of the signs and the potential for death, the veterinarians at the poison control center advocate aggressive treatment for any dogs suggested of ingesting excessive amounts of grapes or raisins.
I have fed my dogs a few grapes every now and then for years, so I don't think there is a need to panic if a dog eats three or four grapes, but if the whole bunch is missing from the table one day, it would be good to think about watching for any signs of a toxic reaction.
