The Young Adult Novel, EDENVILLE OWLS is now in the bookstores, and I wish only that you not hurt anyone as you rush out to buy it . . . SEA CHANGE starring Tom Selleck will air on May 22 (I think -- check your local paper) on CBS. Sunny Randall returns in June in SPARE CHANGE . . . Marketing efforts are underway for Dan's (and my) CD: "Songs that Spenser Taught Me.". . .wanna buy a record?
Here's a plug for a Joan Parker fund raiser -- To benefit the New Repertory Theater, you are welcome to bid on a chance to appear as a character in a future Spenser novel. if you interested go to www.cmarket.com
I went to the web site but couldn't find your auction. What a shame because I would be perfect in a future Spenser book since I am a retired cop and licensed PI. Of course Spenser would have to come to South Carolina but hey he's been close........
This weekend I got the last copy of Edenville Owls at B & N and it's a hoot!
I just kill me.

This is a request for you to put on your English instructor hat.
I once read a word that describes a phrase such as "That's not bad".
It's a great word and I wish I could remember and, this time, add it to my vocabulary.
Can you help?

I will definately look for Sea Change. I love your Jesse Stone series. When are you coming to Dallas for a signing?? :)

So, y'know, I'm a big Heinlein fan, too; been that way from in front; but while I lived in Boston for 16 years, I never managed to read any of your books until Potshot came out and hit the power table at the Barnes and Noble...
Changed everything. :-)
In any event, as I wind up for the Heinlein Centennial in Kansas City in July, one of the things I tripped over was the publishing house, Meisha Merlin, which is doing a hardcover collection edition of *everything Heinlein ever published*.
For $2200.
$3500 if you want it in leather.
How many books have you published now, Bob? :-)
I do have to say, though, that I'm still sitting back, breathlessly hoping for that book where we get alternating chapters of Spenser, Randall and Stone, and we don't discover that they're working on 3 different spokes of the same case for about half the book...
Nice to see you've gotten a real blog (as opposed to that unusable Amazon thing); Welcome To The Jungle.

Hi Mr. Parker,
I have ordered Edvenville Owls and I did not have to trample a single person... At least not yet. I am looking forward to sugar-throated Bob and co. sounds like a winner. Keep up the good work.
Cheers,

The new Jesse Stone movie, Sea Change, was definitely a winner! Though quite different from the novel, the storyline and plot twists kept it suspenseful and fast-paced. It was as good as Stone Cold! Tom Selleck, of course, was excellent in his performance' plus there was a fantastic supporting cast. I hope it won't be as long before the next one.

I'm going to the library this evening to check out the first of what I suspect will be the full collection of Robert B. Parker books. Loved Sea Change last evening and will probably buy the DVDs when they become available. I didn't even know you were there - I'm glad to have found you.

As luck would have it, I just finished Sea Change yesterday, and there it was with Tom Selleck on TV.
What a shame. Selleck played it darkly and heavyly whereas your Jesse Stone is a more light-hearted smart-ass.
Of course the plot was unrecognizable; I was very disappointed.

Hi Mr. Parker,
I have a few comments about the movie Sea Change. I did not like it as much as the other Jesse Stone movies. I think they did a poor job in several areas. It was choppy, there were no explanations of the characters and who they were and why they were there.
Unless you are an avid fan of your Jesse Stone novels (which I am) it would be very confusing to someone who had never read one or watched one of the other films. They would mention characters like Gino Fish or JoJO Ginest and never explain who they were.
I know you have very little,if any, creative control over these matters, but you might want to mention this to the producers, including Tom Selleck. I enjoyed the book immensly and am currently reading the new one.
Sincerely,
Georgiann Kite
