I'm back, with a new right knee, to match the previously replaced left one. Both are titanium steel (in keeping with my body type), and I set of alarms in all airports. On the other hand I can walk good. "Resolution", The second in the Appaloosa Trilogy, will be out in the first week of June. I'll be in Texas to promote it (I'm not planning to visit Crawford, or hunt with Dick Chaney). My new YA novel, "The Boxer and the Spy" is out this month. The next Jesse Stone/Tom Selleck movie will be on CBS later this year. The feature film, Appaloosa, directed by Ed Harris, starring Harris, Viggo Mortenson, Rene Zellweger, and Jeremy Irons (also featuring the great Daniel T. Parker) is in post production, don't have a release date yet.David Parker and the Bang Group will be at Joe's Pub (Public Theater) in NYC on June 6 & 7. I'm about to start the next Jesse Stone novel(tentatively titled, The Next Jesse Stone Novel). And the beat goes on.

Spenser and Jesse Stone crossed paths in "Back Story". I just finished reading it, and it was terrific.

Mr Parker, I have just read the first two chapters of Resolution posted on your website, and I must say that it looks incredible! I'm hoping that it will be released in e-book format, but so far haven't seen it. I'm a consumer that would pay the regular hard cover price to be able to read a book on my sony reader. I think Spenser would think me a blasphemer to even hint at such a thing!
Thank you for so many years of entertainment!

There was a brief cross over in Back Story when Spenser and Hawk were staking out a mobster's residence in Paradise. I enjoy the way Healy, Rita Fiore and Dix all exist in this imaginary world together and remember a veiled reference to Chief Stone once when Spenser and Rita were talking. But if you're talking about cross over why not throw in Martin Quirk, his intervention on Spenser's behalf in Hugger Mugger made it one of my favorite Spenser novels because Martin was briefly more than just background on that ocassion. I'd like to see Quirk and Stone work a case together. Also, my apologies to the author, but I don't get the Jenn thing either.

Will there be another Spenser movie?

By the way, my dad is a big fan of yours. He's read all the Spenser novels so far and possibly all the Jesse Stone novels so far, maybe all of your novels in general so far. And he's seen all the movies based on your novels and the Spenser for Hire tv series.

I'm not a long-time reader like the people who've posted these fine messages. I *loved* Bob Urich and so looked forward to Spenser. But "Soos" was unbearable; I gave up after just a few episodes. The Jesse Stone stories are works of art--the slow pace and music; Tom Selleck, the dog (why didn't the first dog get billing?) and rest of the cast, of course the stories--a perfect blend, mesmerizing, more than just a television show. I've purchased all the dvds. And wait impatiently for Thin Ice.

Jesse Stone--stay wth more! Tired of Spenser and if keep with Sunny, please stop or slow down references to Rosie. Sick of that dog being filler in series. Jesse is tops!!!

Tired of Spenser. Stay with Jesse--best of your characters. Love the Jesse Stone series. But find a new love interest for him instead of Jenn. Enough already with Jenn. Too superfiial a character. Jesse deserves better! If stay with Sunny Randall series, get her back with Richie and please, please stop with reference to Rosie. Sick of that dog. 7/21/08

It would seem that Kate "Tired of Spenser" Troise doesn't quite get it--Spenser stays timeless, but reflects on society with a mind that strikes the reader as independent of the time period in which he lives/has lived/shall live. Never once have I felt tired of these novels, and I doubt that I ever shall.
Oh, and Kate, you may want to read a bit more about the Rosie references. Your "sick of that dog" comment was as ignorant as it would be callouse.

Mr. Parker you will think that I'm nuts but my nana Lorraine is your number one fan. The hero that she likes the best is Jesse Stone. She is now awaiting for the next one to come out. Thought you should know. She will be 84 yrs. old in the coming January and I would love to buy your new book for her.

I am a huge fan and I'm glad to hear RBP is back in top form! I still own every book RBP has written and devour each new one the moment it gets stocked in my local bookstore. I've turned my mom into RBP 's#2 fan and she's currently bidding on one of the harder to find in print books! Both of us would also love to be able to purchase the Spenser TV series on DVD. Keep it up and best wishes!

Mr. Parker, you may be getting weary of Jesse Stone questions, but please advise us when "Thin Ice" will air on CBS. Also is there any basis of fact to the rumor that the next Jesse Stone will be "The Return"?

I could survive three year in the wilderness with just water, oatmeal,Old Grand Dad,and all of the Spencer books. Along with beautiful women and sports they make life worth living. Please tell me you have three or twelve more Spencer/Hawk/Susan novels in you!!!When can I expect them? I love you man.

Why didn't Virgil Cole stop to reload after the initial gunfight with Pig and friends, in "Brimstone"? Isn't this the first time in the trilogy in which immediate reloading doesn't take place? Inconsistency is not a hallmark of Parker novels.

as an avid reader,i apreciate your Spencers. The discriptive passages remind me of childhood haunts in eastern Ma., NH and Maine. I don't have all your book, but will try to complete my collection. Most of the family read and disperce them.

What's with it and broken or replaced bones?? I broke my left hip and left wrist. Writing is the only thing one can do while (laid up). Do we walk in the lightening now or avoid it?

Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour, sometime, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.
