I'm back after a long delinquency. . . .
Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch have returned as well, in RESOLUTION, the second book in the "Appaloosa" trilogy, which is now out and available. The third entry, BRIMSTONE, will appear next year. . . My new young adult novel, THE BOXER AND THE SPY is also available for purchase . . . APPALOOSA, the movie (Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Irons, & Rene Zellweger -- directed by Harris) has finished shooting and progresses through the editing and post production process. I don't know yet when it will be released. . . The next Tom Selleck/Jesse Stone movie will be on CBS in the fall . . David Parker and the Bang Group will offer their all dance reinvention of Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun" in dinner theater at Rialto restaurant at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge on July 8, 22 & 29. A splendid show, a gourmet meal. The show previously performed in NYC at Joe's Pub. For you medical fans, I had my right knee replaced in April, and am now the proud owner of two steel knees, no outmoded original equipment for me. . . The Daniel Parker CD, SONGS THAT SPENSER TAUGHT ME, is almost ready. I'll let you know. . . Joan and Pearl are both doing very well, and remain beautiful (each in her own way, of course).

Glad to hear the Tom Selleck/Jesse Stone series continues. I just love Selleck in the role, even though it doesn't jive with Jesse as described in the books at all. Selleck get more and more interesting every year and the series is about the best serious thing on TV — so good I won't quibble that the stories don't jive with the books any more than Selleck does with Stone (and if The Man — Robert B Parker — has blessed it, who are we to object).

Mr. Parker, what a pleasure this is to get to tell you this. I come from a faithful line of Western genre fans (my father and grandfather) and therefore would have nothing to do with the like (I was residing in Amarillo, Texas, for God's sake; life IS a western.) But I fell victim to a huge Viggo Mortensen crush last fall and decided I would give the book a go. When I finished the last page, I turned it right around and read it again. You opened my eyes to a new genre, and my father and I actually have a subject we can talk about. Excellent book. Thank you for it. I look forward to Resolution.

Thanks for all the updates. My husband got Resolution for me last week and I loved it. Can't wait for the third book in the trilogy! Also anxiously awaiting Appaloosa, the movie.

What a find. I have been reading your books for 18 years and during a particular long summer in 1990, I read all the old Spenser books. Later that year, when my son was born, there was only one name that came to mind. Spenser Wesley Andersen was born on December 31 that year and he has had to spell both his first and last name ever since.
Thanks for all the good reads.

Sir:
I say you in Dallas recently at a signing for RESOLUTION. It was a pleasure to see you again in the flesh -- artificial knees and all ...
I'm looking forward to BRIMSTONE, as I enjoyed RESOLUTION very much.
Hope you have a good Boston summer.

Just Amazon.com. The next Spenser novel will be out on October 21st, and the title is Rough Water. The author brings back the Gray Man, who nearly killed Spenser several novels ago.

Can't wait for Appaloosa the movie. Also, the Jesse Stone books and movies are excellent. There needs to be more of these...love Tom Selleck in the role. Most interesting character on TV right now.

I have been a lover of your books for may years, and have enjoyed the Sonny Randel series. I do however have a complaint about the reader of Shrink Wrap... as a Marbleheader who moved to NC in the 50's to have an English teacher not understand why the poem "Snowbound" did not read correctly as "Haverhill" just did not fit.... I explained that she needed to prounounce it as Haverill and it would fit. I wish she would pronounce Haverhill as Havrill (ie the correct pronounciation...) Love your writing and your characters etc....

Mr. Parker - I can't tell you how much I love your novels. From Spencer to Jesse and Sunny - I can't get enough of your characters. Thank you for writing an intelligent series of novels that continue to keep us entertained!

My Dad loves western books and I would like to find a list of your western book titles, by date of release. He likes to read them in order! Would you please let me know where to find such a list? My Dad is 81 years old and reading is just about all he can do.
I have all 6 of the Sunny Randall series and re-read then every year.
Thank you

Please let us know that Jesse Stone: Thin Ice is but a mere hic-up in the broad arena of television. The series to date has been outstanding (Emmy quality)an true to book form. Hope they will continue. Thanks for the many many hours of great commuting time with the audio versions of your works.

Have just recently been intoduced to RBP by seeing a rerun of Stone Cold on tv not long ago and then finding Night Passage and I was completely hooked on Jesse etc. I have to agree it gets confusing watching the movies and also reading books, no time line! Would like to find all the movies on DVD and books in hardback....
Since I saw the movie first,Tom Selleck IS Jesse Stone! He has always been one of my favorites, since Lance White on Rockford but to me this is his best ever!
thank you Robert! It has been a great adventure! Cannot wait for more

Mr. Parker; I became a Robert B.Parker fan 15 years ago and have read and thoroughly enjoyed everything that you have written. I also listen to the Spenser books on tape. I hope that you will continue to entertain us all for many years to come. Thank you for all the great reading.

Dear Robert, thanks for the many hours of pleasant and humorous reading! I'm now reading some of the older Spenser stories and enjoying them all. I think the humour is the best part of them. Again thanks so much and God bless you and Joan (and Pearl too)!

I can't wait to see Appaloosa. Also, there needs to be more Jesse Stone books/movies. Love them and wish CBS would do a series...not just one or two a year. I love Jesse and Selleck does a fantastic job.

If there is no sufficient reason for something about the world (any event, fact, and so on… in the world), then that something can’t be fully understood. (because understanding it requires understanding why it happened, why it is as it is, and the answers of those things are sufficient reasons)
