Hello,
The new Jesse Stone novel, NIGHT & DAY, appears on Feb 24. The latest Jesse Stone movie , THIN ICE(Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone), is on CBS March 1. The movie is an original, not based on one of the books, but of course using the characters. I don't like it that they don't need me, but you'll enjoy it. Tom and I will be in New York promoting Jesse Stone and may do so at some point, together. If you see us and are confused (we both have moustaches), Tom's the taller one. . . . In May my new YA novel, CHASING THE BEAR comes out. It is about the young Spenser(age 14-15), his father and his uncles, who raised him. And in June (I think), BRIMSTONE, the third book in the Appaloosa Trilogy, will appear. You loved the movie, now visit them again.

To those of you who see Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone, have you read the description of Jesse Stone Mr. Parker wrote. Jesse is not as tall as Tom nor does he have the characteristics that Parker has developed in his stories. Maybe a re-read would be worth your while. And the answer is yes, I have seen all of the Jesse Stone movies and they have only gotten worse as they have gone on and destroyed the very characters that make the Jesse Stone novels intriguing. I hope Parker wakes up soon and sees the destruction of his work on the screen.

Just finished reading Night and Day! Great to see Jesse, Suit and Molly square off against the Night Hawk (and a few others along the way). For me, though, the true source of suspense was in Jesse's personal life. What was he going to do? Towards the end of the book, I was turning pages faster and faster to find out.
The final chapter did not disappoint. Very satisfying (my son wondered what my truimphant "Yes!" was all about as I read).
Looking forward to seeing what happens next. You are working on that right now, aren't you? Right? :-)
Thanks for a good read!
PS: Looking forward to Brimstone.

Every time I read Spenser, I end up eventually, making corn bread. Or corn muffins. If I could make plain donuts, I'd probably make plain donuts. But there are so many other recipes in your books, are you ever going to put them together, The Thug's Guide to Cuisine, perhaps?

Mr. Parker,
I have loved Spenser longer than I've loved my husband, and we'll be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for creating such a marvelous character, along with Susan and Hawk and Jesse Stone and Suit and Molly and Sunny and Spike. Well, you get the point.
I'm always excited when you have a new book coming out. I devour them all.

Mr. Parker,
The dog (Reggie( who is played by "Joe"...is that the same dog on the Bush's Baked Bean Commericals who is named "Duke"? If not, they look soooooooooo
much alike. I know they are the same breed of dog, but the uncanny likeness is so strong to not be the same dog.
Very Curious'

I have read all of Robert Parkers books I can get my hands on. Converting old cassette tapes to mp3. What is "no Remorse"? Is that a Jesse Stone book? Thanks

Joan -
Canterbury Road. I have such fond and funny memories of you and Bob. So gruff on the outside, such a lovely man on the inside. Everyone who ever met him will miss him. I feel fortunate to have known him. As he would say to me when we met in Star Mkt., "You knew me when (pre-Spenser)... I am so sad for you and the boys. So sad for all who knew him. Mo

joan (if i may be so bold) i'm very sorry for your - and all of our loss. mr. parker was my favorite author. i loved all his books and characters- and his thoughts on life, relationships, dogs, race , the way he treated people and his observations.... i loved that his characters cooked or liked good food and drink. i'm sorry i never thought to write anything on here previously so that he could have been aware of all the ways he touched people- but i have a feeling he did. take care, you have a long journey to ahead of you dealing with the loss of your partner. be kind to yourself. suzie

why did they screw-up 'no remorse' by editing it to fit commercial tv? i have the other CD's and i wish this movie were a part of that collection.

Make youself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

The tragedy of the world is that those who are imaginative have but slight experience, and those who are experienced have feeble imaginations. Do you think so?

A great poem is a fountain forever overflowing with the waters of wisdom and delight.A novel is a mirror walking along a main road.A picture is a poem without words.Do you understand?

I was deeply saddened by the passing of Robert B. Parker.I just read "Painted Ladies" which I enjoyed immensely. As I finished the last word of the book.It struck me that after 30 years of reading "Spencer" that this was it. What a tribute to Mr. Parker's life that as I type this another person will pick up one of his books for the first time allowing Spencer to live again and bring joy and humour to the reader. All his characters are just waiting to spring back off the pages of his wonderful books. Thank you for all the joy and humour that you have brought me.
